Your pregnancy and birth are unique. You are unique. Your family dynamic is unique. Because of this, each care plan is warmly customized to you and your family. This is possible because I do not take more than two mamas in a 6-week period and because we get the luxury to meet over multiple prenatal visits. The reason I limit the number of births I will take in a certain time frame is that I want you and your family to get my undivided attention.
Because the prenatal visits not only include (depending on your package) chiropractic services, along with birth preparation we get to know one another well before the most intimate and empowering moments of your life.
Because each mama, baby, and family are unique, our process is highly customized. This is possible because we have the luxury of meeting over multiple prenatal sessions. The ability to not only provide doula services but to also be a part of your healthcare team means that I get the opportunity to prepare you for birth both mentally and physically.
There is no “one size fits all” approach when it comes to birth preparation, just is there is no “one size fits all” approach to parenthood. I listen to you. I support you. I help you understand your options and help you understand that the most predictable aspect of labor and birth is the unpredictability. The more prepared we can make you and your family for the unpredictable moments, the more comfortable and relaxed you can be when your little one enters the world.
Your unique plan may include traditional approaches such as designing a written birth plan and discussing medical research on topics of concern to you. It may encompass incorporating mindfulness practices into your daily routine. You may also be traditional in some areas and quite the opposite in others.
My services include prenatal care, birth support, postpartum care, and chiropractic care for your baby. I love when I get the opportunity to work with mamas from pregnancy, into her postpartum years, and even getting the opportunity to work with her children. However, I am happy to provide my chiropractic services during any of the stages and also happy to be solely your birth doula!
My approach is truly holistic. Together we work to optimize physical, emotional and spiritual preparation for birth and motherhood.
We provide continuous physical and emotional support during the woman’s labor and birth.
We offer both help and advice on comfort measures such as breathing, relaxation, movements, positional changes, touch, heat or ice, and more. We assist the mother and her partner (if present) to becoming informed on different options during their labor and birth.
They do not perform clinical tasks (vaginal exams, fetal monitoring, or blood pressure monitoring). They do not diagnose medical conditions, offer second opinions or give medical advice. They do not make decisions for their clients. They do not project their own values and goals onto the laboring mother.
